Surviving The G20 Weekend

    June 25, 2010

The G20 has finally rolled into town, with the battalion of police personnel trying to show the public who's boss. 3000 extra officers from across Canada are in Toronto. The security around the convention Center is so tight, you cant cross the road without being asked endless questions. Not to worry, here are some venues and means to get to them this weekend, despite the tight security.

Pearson Airport - Yes its open, with very heavy security including a Canadian Forces tank, and military personnel.  I guess $930 million gets the toys.

Via Rail - Modified schedule through Sunday

Union Station - Exit to Front st. closed Friday to Sunday.

TTC - Minor diversions around the G20 zone for buses, subway service as normal.

Path - Underground system closed Friday night to Monday morning.

CN Tower - Closed all  weekend.

Art Gallery of Ontario - Closed all weekend

Eaton Center - Open amidst heavy security.

Ontario Place - Open with $20 dollar discount for the weekend.
